Yangjiang Thunderstorm and Gale Yellow Warning: It is expected that there will be thunderstorms in most parts of our city in the next six hours, accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall and strong convective winds of around level 8. The Yangjiang Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow warning signal for thunderstorms and gales in Yangjiang at 10:20 am on September 7, 2025. Please take precautions.

Description

It may be affected by thunderstorms and gales within 6 hours, the average wind force can reach 8 or more, or gusts of 9 or more accompanied by strong lightning; or it has been affected by thunderstorms and gales, the average wind has reached 8-9, or gusts of 9-10 accompanied by strong lightning, and may continue.

Guidelines

1. Keep valuable electrical equipment that is vulnerable to lightning strikes properly, and put them in a safe place after power failure;

2. Residents in dangerous areas and dangerous houses, as well as ships, should take shelter from the wind. Never take shelter from rain under trees, electric poles, or tower cranes, and turn off mobile phones when lightning occurs;

Yellow Typhoon Warning for Yangjiang: At 10:00 on the 7th, Typhoon Taba (tropical storm level) was located about 433 kilometers southeast of Yangjiang on the sea surface, with maximum wind speeds of 9 levels (23 meters per second) near the center. It is expected that "Taba" will move northwestward at a speed of about 15 kilometers per hour, heading towards the western coast of Guangdong. From the evening of the 7th to the 9th, it will have a severe wind and rain impact on our city. The wind speed in the coastal areas and nearby waters can reach 8 to 10 levels, with gusts of about 12 levels. Before landing, there will be gusts of 12 to 14 levels in the area near the center. The Yangjiang Meteorological Observatory upgraded the typhoon blue warning signal to yellow at 10:15 am on September 7, 2025. Please continue to carry out various defense measures.
