At 240 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Hamburg, or 10 miles west of West Milford, moving north at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Wayne, West Milford, Monsey, Ramsey, Ringwood, Pompton Lakes, Suffern, Monroe, Warwick, Goshen, Sloatsburg, Bloomingdale, Fairfield, Chester, and Greenwood Lake.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following areas, Western Bergen and Western Passaic and southeast New York, including the following areas, Northern Westchester, Orange, Putnam and Rockland. * WHEN...Through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A slow moving low pressure system will bring multiple rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms to the area today through Wednesday. Average rainfall amounts are expected to be between 3 and 5 inches with localized higher amounts. Peak hourly rainfall rates could be as high as 2 to 3 inches in the heaviest showers and thunderstorms.
