The southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf is strengthening while the monsoon through lies across the North and the upper Norhtheast. At the same time, tropical storm NONGFA covers upper Vietnam. Isolated heavy rains are likely in the East and the South regions while isolated very heavy rains with strong wind are possible in the Northeast and the eastern part of the North regions. The rather strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea, the waves are likely about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In addition, tropical storm “NONGFA” made landfall over Ha Tinh, Vietnam, is likely to downgrade to tropical depression and will move to upper Laos after that it is forecast to downgrade to an active low-pressure cell and will move through the monsoon trough that lie across over the North and the Northeast of Thailand during 30 - 31 Aug.
