* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is possible. * WHERE...In Minnesota, Cook and Lake Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Grand Portage Reservation.This also includes the Boundary Waters eastern and central area. * WHEN...From Monday morning through Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Around 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected to fall. Eastern Cook County also has several inches of lingering snowpack. While rainfall rates are not expected to be heavy, prolonged moderate rainfall on top of saturated soils and should lead to runoff. Dry conditions will lead to near-critical fire weather conditions today. Minimum relative humidity values of 19 to 30 percent are expected in Koochiching County, northern Itasca County, and the western portion of northern St. Louis County. These conditions could lead to the rapid spread of fires. Check burning restrictions and fire danger before burning.
