This warning was originally issued as a dual warning for Rain and Snow. Outbreaks of rain will develop widely on Tuesday, becoming persistent and heavy at times, falling as snow on high ground. 20-35mm of rain is likely to low levels with some places seeing 40-50mm. Whilst accumulating snow is unlikely at low-levels, there will be a sharp increase in snow depths with elevation, with 2-5 cm possible in places above 300m, 5-10 cm above 400m, and 10-20 cm above 500m. Substantially more snow may accumulate over the mountains. This may impact some high-level routes, with drifting possible in rather brisk southeasterly winds.
