Williamson County in southern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 330 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1246 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, western Kentucky, and southwest Indiana. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An additional round of rainfall is expected this afternoon and evening across portions of the area. An additional 0.75-2 inches of rain is possible. Should storms manage to train over areas that are already heavily saturated, flash flooding will be a concern.
